Nickel

One of the most nonferrous metals, nickel is valued for its high-temperature performance, corrosion resistance, magnetic properties and overall durability. Although its primary application is as a strengthening and protective agent in over 3,000 alloys, especially with copper and in stainless steel, it is ideally suited for coining-which it is used to produce the U.S. 5-cent piece.
